CvSU-SPRINT Center holds research collaboration meeting with DOST-FPRDI

A meeting between Sugar Palm Research, Information, and Trade (SPRINT) Center and the Department of Science and Technology – Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) was held on February 6, 2024 at the Board Room, Cavite State University – Don Severino de las Alas Campus, Indang, Cavite.


The meeting’s objective is to finalize the content of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between SPRINT Center and DOST-FPRDI. The meeting also discussed a possible research collaboration that will result in the value addition and optimization of the use of senile sugar palm trees.


During the meeting, For. Junser P. Magpantay, director of SPRINT Center; Engr. Sheryl D. Fenol, SPRINT Center research and extension team member; Dr. Teddy F. Tepora, CvSU Innovation & Technology Support Office (ITSO) manager; and Atty. Ross Camille P. Salazar, legal service officer was present on behalf of CvSU. On the other hand, Dr. Loreto A. Novicio, DOST-FPRDI chief of the technology innovation division; For. Jefferson Rey M. Roxas, project leader; For. Aralyn L. Quintos-Cortiguerra, senior science research specialist; and Mr. Rodell A. Papa, senior science research specialist, represented DOST-FPRDI. #SPRINTCenter


 


Attendees of the meeting discuss the initial plans of a research collaboration to be conducted by the CvSU-SPRINT Center and DOST-FPRDI on the utilization of senile sugar palm trees.
