A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Cavite State University – Sugar Palm Research Information and Trade (CvSU-SPRINT) Center and South Seven Livestock Corporation (SSLC) was signed on March 20, 2024, at the University Board Room, CvSU – Don Severino de las Alas Campus.

The MOA signing marks a strengthened partnership of both parties toward a unified purpose of managing and maximizing the potential economic and ecological use of sugar palms.

During the signing, the CvSU and SPRINT Center were represented by For. Junser P. Magpantay, director of SPRINT Center; and Dr. Almira G. Magcawas, director of Extension Services Unit. SSLC, the other party, was represented by Mrs. Rizalina Oposa, managing director; Mr. Arthuro Tolentino, general manager; Ms. Ma. Lea Anarna, farm manager; and Ms. Mariz A. Matel.

Since 2010, SSLC has been a staunch partner of SPRINT Center in the attainment of its goal for a sustainable sugar palm industry. A 2-hectare portion of SSLC’s privately owned farm named Queentown Farm, situated in Sitio Portugal, Brgy. Indang, Cavite, is devoted to a sugar palm plantation. This also serves as a demonstration farm for the SPRINT Center. #SPRINTCenter
