As part of their "3rd Training-Workshop on Biodiversity Resource Assessment and Monitoring Methods," the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development - Forestry and Environment Research Division (PCAARRD-FERD) visited the Sugar Palm Research, Information and Trade (SPRINT) Center and other research, development and extension units of the university within the Agri-Eco Tourism Park on August 8, 2024.
A short program was held at the CEd-AVR to introduce university officials and personnel present, DOST PCAARD - FERD officials and personnel, and participants of the training workshop. It also served as a venue to exhibit the best practices of the SPRINT Center and National Cofee Research, Development and Extension Center (NCRDEC) which are major component centers of the Agri-Eco Tourism Park.

CvSU Officials present were: Dr. Hernando D. Robles, University President; Prof. Edgardo A. Gonzales, SPRINT Center Director; Engr. Gerry M. Castillo, NCRDEC Director; and Dr. Joana Marie M. Tayag, Agri-Eco Tourism Park Manager. DOST PCAARRD - FERD officials present were Dr. Nimfa K. Torreta, FERD - PCAARRD Director, and Dr. Christine D. Santiago, FERD-PCAARRD ISP Manager for Biodiversity. Meanwhile, Biodiversity Resource Assessment and Monitoring trainees are composed of faculty and researchers from various state universities and colleges, and research institutions in the country.
The SPRINT Center also took the opportunity as the activity facilitator to conduct a short orientation of its research and extension activities and completed and ongoing facilities development which received attention among participants.
A tour of the Agri-Eco Tourism park followed the short program. FERD personnel and training workshop participants were given time to visit the actual offices and facilities of the RDE units as well as experience their actual operations in terms of research and development activities.
