SPRINT Center conducts Strategic Planning workshop for 2023-2028 & Stakeholders Consultation

The Sugar Palm Research, Information, and Trade (SPRINT) Center conducted a Strategic Planning Workshop for 2023-2028 and Stakeholders Consultation Meeting last April 20, 2023 at S.M. Rolle Hall, Cavite State University – Don Severino de las Alas Campus, Indang, Cavite.


The event aimed to formulate the mission and vision statements and roadmap of the SPRINT Center for 2023-2028, organize the center’s gender-responsive strategic planning for 2023-2028, and frame the Center’s operational plan for 2023; finalize the official list of research and extension team of the SPRINT Center; assess the identified and designated thematic areas of research; and conduct a stakeholders’ consultation meeting.


In attendance with the SPRINT Center Research and Extension team were barangay officials, kaong farmers, traders, and processors from Brgy. Alulod, Kayquit II, Kayquit III, Daine I, Daine II, Tambo Malaki and Guyam Munti; participants from Magallanes Business Owners Credit Cooperative, Queentown Farm in Indang, Department of Tourism, Municipal Agriculture Office, Office of the Municipal Councilor Nilo Telmo, Association of Barangay Captains in Indang; Cavite Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist as well as some students.


For. Junser P. Magpantay, director of SPRINT Center delivered the welcome remarks. It was followed by the introduction of participants facilitated by Mr. Alfie Carl A. Battung, research assistant of SPRINT Center, and an introduction to SPRINT Center personnel and members of the SPRINT Research and Extension Team by For. Magpantay.

Resource persons invited were Prof. King David J. Agreda for Gender Responsive Strategic Planning and Dr. Ruel M. Mojica for the crafting of SPRINT Center’s vision, mission, and road map. After the discussions, For. Magpantay facilitated the Community Needs Assessment and the finalization of the Center’s Vision, Mission and Objectives. #SPRINTCenter
