With its mission to uplift the living conditions of the sugar palm stakeholders towards the advancement of the sugar palm industry, an extension project titled “Improving and Revitalizing Opportunities for Kaong farmers (IROK) towards a better quality of life” was proposed by the SPRINT Center and was approved by Dr. Hernando D. Robles, university president. In line with its 2-year implementation (2024-2026), an inception meeting was held on June 11, 2024 at the Training Hall, Technology Demonstration Farm, Cavite State University – Don Severino de las Alas Campus, Indang, Cavite. The inception meeting aims to orient and strategize the implementation of the project.
Present in the inception meeting were: Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac, vice president for research and extension; For. Junser P. Magapantay, director of SPRINT Center and Project Leader; and Dr. Racquel G. Agustin, director of extension services unit. Also present were project members: Engr. Sheryl Dinglasan-Fenol, Ms. Karen Krista E. Cajilis; and project staff: Mr. Jhon Laurence B. Herrera, Mr. Alfie Carl A. Battung, Ms. Annette L. Marges, Ms. Bernadette S. Amparo, Ms. Paula Gie C. Ducusin, Ms. Remilyn V. Conception, Ms. Heidi P. Paler, Ms. Jan Edrea D. Cortes and Mr. Yves Roy M. Tibayan.
