The research congress was organized by the CvSU-Naic Campus to showcase the research outputs of the high school and college students of the entire CvSU system. Paper presentations were held in parallel sessions which were grouped in three categories, namely, natural science, social science, and developmental. Prof. Rico Santos from the Technological University of the Philippines evaluated the papers submitted under developmental category and also served as the discussant during the paper presentation.

The research paper was supervised by their research adviser, For. Junser P. Magpantay, director of the SPRINT Center, and their technical critic, Engr. Sheryl D. Fenol, CvSU faculty researcher and member of the SPRINT Center Research and Extension Team from the College of Engineering and Information Technology.

Meanwhile, the same paper was also awarded 3rd Best Poster in the investigatory project category during the CvSU-LSHS 2023 Research Symposium with the theme "Conquering Greater Heights to Achieving Greater Milestones: Surviving the Pandemic Aftermath" on July 20, 2023.

The research paper "Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata (Wurmb) Merr.) vinegar as herbicide and its effect on soil nutrients" by Rhian Ysabel Joya, Thalia Kim Avilla, and Jhonny Christian Condeza from Cavite State University-Laboratory Science High School (CvSU-LSHS) was also presented during the said Research Symposium. This study was chosen from the final research pitching and defense two weeks before the symposium. It is considered one of the outstanding studies among all other high school research papers.

For. Junser P. Magpantay, director of the SPRINT Center, served as the research adviser while Mr. Jhon Laurence B. Herrera served as the technical critic of the said paper.

Kudos to the CvSU-LSHS students and the SPRINT Center for the said achievements! #SPRINTCenter
